Respite Nights | Grace Church
Add this event to my calendar

Grace Church offers respite nights four times a year for families with children who have disabilities. Drop your children off to hang out with volunteers while parents and caregivers enjoy a night off. Kids will enjoy a full-size gym, crafts, toys, legos, movies, and snacks.

Parents can drop off all of their children – those with special needs and their siblings - to enjoy an evening out!  Any child with a disability that needs extra supervision will be paired up with a buddy for the evening. A staffed nursery is available for children ages birth to 4 years.  Older children are supervised in the general children’s area located on the upper terrace level.

Kids can enjoy a full-size gym for basketball and other free play. There are also many rooms where kids can play with toys, make arts and crafts, play board games, read books, and watch movies!

Snacks are also provided in the evening. If there is an allergy or diet issue, we ask parents to provide a labeled snack from home.

The respite is staffed by a number of Barnabas volunteers from our Sunday morning disability program, as well as students from High School Student Ministries, young adults, and families.  A registered nurse is also present.

Families in our database will receive an email a couple of weeks prior to the upcoming respite night with a link to register. A new registration form must be filled out for each child at the beginning of every school year.
